Workshop descriptions:
Basic Composting- This workshop covers the basics of home composting of food and yard waste including: The benefits of composting, what to compost, how to build and maintain a compost bin or pile and how to use the harvested compost.
Basic Vermicomposting- Vermicomposting is the process of using earthworms in a contained space to compost foodscraps. It is a great way for those with small or no yards to compost at home. The workshop will cover the worms, different types of systems, how to set up and maintain a worm bin, and how to harvest and use the worm castings. Note this workshop is most helpful for home composters and those who work with school and community gardens. It does not address commercial or large scale vermicomposting.
