Registration:
All new clients must make a registration appointment prior to the start of service to review all paperwork, and discuss your pet’s needs and schedule. There is a one-time non-refundable consultation fee of $15 payable at the time of your consultation appointment. Payment for any pet sitting service scheduled during this initial appointment is due at this time. If registering for regular mid-day walks, payment for the first week or month of service will be due at this time.
Keys:
Two working copies of your house key are required at the time of your registration appointment. A $10 fee will apply if only one key is provided. For your convenience and ease of scheduling future service, your keys will remain on file indefinitely. Clients that elect not to keep keys on file with Sierra Stroll will be charged a $10 fee for each instance of either picking up or dropping off keys.
Access/Entry Codes:
For the safety and security of your pet(s), Sierra Stroll Pet Care requires uninterrupted access to your home during each service. If you live in a gated community or secure-access facility, we require an access code or device.
Dog Walking Service
Scheduling:
The office staff are responsible for all scheduling and coordination of your service. Your Pet Care Professional works outside the office taking care of pets and does not have access to our scheduling system. If you need any changes to your service, contact us by phone (571-277-6969), or use our online system. Please, do not contact your dog walker. There is a great chance that changes not made directly with the office will not be applied properly and mistakes can occur. Our office staff will note your request in your record and notify your Pet Care Professional. Please make service changes by 8 a.m. on the date of the change, or as far in advance as possible, so we can make proper arrangements. Visits cancelled after 8 a.m. on the date of service will be charged.
Emergency/Last Minute Visits:
Dog walking visits requested with less than 8 hours notice will be billed at the regular rate plus a $10 last-minute service fee. Please note our scheduling system is not automated. Requests submitted after hours are not processed until the next business day. Also, emergency visits that fall outside the usual 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. mid-day dog walking service hours will be billed at the "pay as you go" rate plus a $10 emergency service fee.
Time Window Policy:
We ask that our clients choose preferable windows of time for us to visit their pets, and do our best to accommodate those requests. We cannot guarantee exact times.
Payment:
Weekly payments are due on the first day of service for that week to avoid late payment penalties. Monthly contract payments shall be paid no later than the fifth service day of each month. We accept personal checks and cash.
Cancellations:
All cancellations must go through our main office via our website Change Service form, email (scheduling@sierrastroll.com), text or phone 571-277-6969. Prepaid mid-day walks canceled by 8 a.m. on the day of service will be credited to the next week or month of service, depending on your payment plan. If a visit is canceled after 8 a.m. on the day of service or your dog walker comes to walk your dog without adequate notification of cancelation, you will be charged for that visit and no credit will be issued.
Holidays:
Regular mid-day walks will occur on every weekday as scheduled with the exception of the following Federal holidays:
- New Year's Day
- Memorial Day
- Independence Day
- Labor Day
- Thanksgiving Day
- Christmas Day
Dog walking service is available on these holidays with an additional $10 holiday fee per visit.
Inclement Weather:
To ensure the safety of our dog walkers, regularly scheduled mid-day walks are canceled when the Federal Government closes due to inclement weather. Pet sitting service occurs as scheduled. If there are no closures, your dog walker will get to your home to care for your pet as soon as safely possible. In extreme weather conditions (i.e., thunderstorms, excessive heat or cold, ice, snow, etc.), dogs will be taken out long enough to relieve themselves, and the remainder of the visit time will be spent indoors. Please leave a towel out so that in wet conditions we may dry off your dog.
